About Me
Hon. Achie holds MA in Marketing Management from Kingston University (London), BA Economics (UoN). She is the immediate former County Minister for Tourism, Sports, Arts and Culture of Kisumu County, Kenya.

She is an accredited Business Coach; an alumnus of the Coaching Academy in London. She transitioned to Coaching after an international corporate career that culminated in becoming Vice President of the IWC in The Hague, in The Netherlands.

Her professional background is in Marketing and Advertising, where she was EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) Account Director for two of the leading global agencies – McCann Erickson London and Leo Burnett London, some of the leading global brands in charge of global brands, including Delta Airlines, Max Factor, Toyota and Gillette.

She spent 23 years working in Europe and the Middle East before joining the County of Kisumu. She served as the National Caucus Chair bringing together all the 47 Tourism and Wildlife County Ministers under the patronage of the Council of Governors. Achie Ojany - Alai was appointed to the planning committee for Africities Global Summit hosted in Kisumu, Kenya, in April 2022, for which she mobilized resources.

She has spearheaded several initiatives in the county that have helped improve the lives of Kisumu youth. Such initiatives include the Kisumu All Stars, whose patron is The Governor, “I AM Kisumu” Talent Search, and Film training every year in partnership with Kenya Film Commission.

Hon. Achie elevated KCA University through the Western Campus - Kisumu during her tenure by involving the University in the County programs while providing avenues for partnerships and linkages to potential donors/partners,

Hon. Achie, being a global figure, a great resource mobilizer, and a strategic leader with immense networks globally, bring a good mix to the Foundation Board in strategy and governance. In addition, her multi-skilled nature and sense of influence within public and private sectors will go a long way in boosting the Board’s efforts to offer strategic leadership and governance experience in steering the Foundation towards resource mobilization efforts.
