Profile Description

Dr. Sarah holds PhD in Development Economics with a focus on the role of women in development from Aachen Technical University, Germany. Also, Doctor of Humanities – in recognition of the community work on Women and girls empowerment, Bethel University College, USA.

Dr. Sarah has Post Graduate Diploma in International Human Rights Law from the University of Oxford, UK with elective courses on Human rights Law on Gender, poverty and Sexuality issues. In addition, she holds a Master degree in International Business Administration, majoring in Finance and Bachelor of Science in accounting and an Associate Degree in Information Science.

She is a Certified public accountant and certified by the United Nations in the investigation of abuse of authority, harassment and discrimination and sexual abuse and sexual exploitation. She has over 30 years of experience at both the national and international levels,—a collaborative analytical trainer with the ability to leverage information technology. She is currently serving as an International Management Consultant.

Dr. Sarah is a human rights activist and a strong advocate for the equality of gender and other marginalized groups; an accomplished intergovernmental negotiator, facilitator and decisive leader with strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. She has undertaken major activities in Advocacy, policy development and implementation.

She is an authority in Resource mobilization for women groups to undertake income generation projects. She is also known for mentorship and empowerment of students and for searching for sponsors for poor girls to pursue education. She has been a Trustee and Economic Advisor to The Village Trust Fund. She oversaw the development of fund-raising strategies, maintaining partnerships and monitoring and reporting on programme implementation.

Dr. Sarah’s experience in the private sector, particularly NGO, would bring good networks to the Foundation and assist in strategy and governance.

Profile Description

Hon. Osiany holds BA (Comms) from the University of Nairobi and an MSc in Public Policy from the University of Bristol, England, courtesy of the prestigious Chevening Scholarship program. He is also a UNEP-Bayer Young Environmental Envoy awardee (2009).
He is the Group Chairman of Crestwood Marketing & Communications Ltd, a communications company based in Nairobi with assignments across the African region.
Hon. David Osiany, HSC, is the immediate former Chief Administrative Secretary for the Ministry of Industrialization, Trade & Enterprise Development of the Republic of Kenya. He is a consummate policy analyst and communication specialist. His extensive multisectoral experience spans the areas of public policy, strategic communications and government relations.
He served as a Special Advisor in the office of the Prime Minister of Kenya (2012-2013). He also formerly worked for Oxfam GB Pan-African program as a Governance Associate as well as a news anchor for Kenya’s leading broadcasting group, Royal Media Services’ HOT96 FM. He also had lead consulting roles with several multinational organizations such as PATH, UNDP, UNFPA, NAIRAS, among others.
Besides serving as the CEO of a reputable PR and communication firm, his stint at the Ministry elevated him to the strategy level, where he exhibited great talent and grasped in the area of strategy.
Having been a beneficiary of a prestigious global scholarship program (Chevening Scholarship), he understands and would help the foundation design policies and strategies to grow the KCA University Scholarship and Endowment Funds.
Hon. Osiany is a good fit for global partnerships and collaborations through his rich and relevant networks that cover local, regional and global spaces. His exposure, influence, age and networks are great resources to the Board. In addition, his established global connections are tapped by the KCA University Foundation, leading to a good yield in resource mobilization.

CPA Noah is a practising member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK), the Institute of Certified Secretaries (ICS) and the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA). He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance and an MBA in Strategic Management from USIU-Africa. He sits on the Board of KCA University Alumni and is also a Consultant/Trainer/Mentor for Business Incubation Africa – a leading micro enterprises incubation hub.

CPA Noah is the Managing Partner and member of the Advisory Board at Ronalds LLP and has over 20 years of experience as a Finance & Audit expert. He has developed expertise in Financial Reporting and Analysis, Business Restructuring and Performance Improvement, Risk Management Consulting and Governance, as well as, Forensics and Investigation.

He has served as a consultant for various industries, including the Financial and Service Sector, Real Estate and Manufacturing, Oil and Gas, Public Sector, and Public Benefits Organizations (PBOs). Before joining Ronalds LLP, he worked for leading institutions, including Grant Thornton.

CPA Noah served as the Chairman of the Alumni Association of KCA University (2019-2022). During his tenure, he spearheaded the development of the association’s master plan, established the association’s constitution and presided over several successful alumni engagement activities. In addition, he championed the establishment of alumni chapters across the country, namely, the Nairobi Chapter, Western Chapter and Kitengela Chapter, with further focus on the diaspora Chapter.

He has provided linkage with industry for the benefit of KCA University students through his robust networks leading to internship opportunities and innovation-based partnerships, and the recruitment of over 20 alumni of KCA University by 2022.

Hon. Achie holds MA in Marketing Management from Kingston University (London), BA Economics (UoN). She is the immediate former County Minister for Tourism, Sports, Arts and Culture of Kisumu County, Kenya.

She is an accredited Business Coach; an alumnus of the Coaching Academy in London. She transitioned to Coaching after an international corporate career that culminated in becoming Vice President of the IWC in The Hague, in The Netherlands.

Her professional background is in Marketing and Advertising, where she was EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) Account Director for two of the leading global agencies – McCann Erickson London and Leo Burnett London, some of the leading global brands in charge of global brands, including Delta Airlines, Max Factor, Toyota and Gillette.

Hon. Achie is currently serving as a branding specialist in the Government Delivery Unit (GDU) of the Republic of Kenya, She spent 23 years working in Europe and the Middle East before joining the County of Kisumu in 2013. She served as the National Caucus Chair bringing together all the 47 Tourism and Wildlife County Ministers under the patronage of the Council of Governors. Achie Ojany – Alai was appointed to the planning committee for Africities Global Summit hosted in Kisumu, Kenya, in April 2022, for which she mobilized resources.

She has equally spearheaded several initiatives in the county that have helped improve the lives of Kisumu youth. Such initiatives include the Kisumu All Stars, whose patron is The Governor, “I AM Kisumu” Talent Search, and Film training every year in partnership with Kenya Film Commission.

Hon. Achie elevated KCA University through the Western Campus – Kisumu during her tenure by involving the University in the County programs while providing avenues for partnerships and linkages to potential donors/partners,

Hon. Achie, being a global figure, a great resource mobilizer, and a strategic leader with immense networks globally, bring a good mix to the Foundation Board in strategy and governance. In addition, her multi-skilled nature and sense of influence within public and private sectors will go a long way in boosting the Board’s efforts to offer strategic leadership and governance experience in steering the Foundation towards resource mobilization efforts.

Professor Isaiah I.C. Wakindiki is a Professor of Soil Science and the Vice Chancellor & CEO of KCA University in Kenya, which prides itself as a premier Business and Technology University of Choice in East Africa and beyond. He holds a BSc in Agriculture Honours, MSc (University of Nairobi) and PhD in Soil Science (Egerton University).

Professor Wakindiki is an accomplished scholar with a proven track record evidenced by over eighty-five (85) publications in high-impact refereed journals, over 43 conferences and book chapters. Most importantly, he has won over 49 funded projects, several consultancies and grants, e.g. from the USAID, International Foundation for Science (IFS) of Stockholm, German Ministry of Economic Cooperation (BMZ) and the National Research Foundation of South Africa. In addition, he has successfully supervised over forty-five (45) postgraduate students at both Masters and PhD levels and examined many thesis and research projects.

Prof. Wakindiki won the Vice Chancellor’s Senior Researcher award in 2012 at the University of Fort Hare and in 2017 at the University of Venda. Previously, he was the Research Professor at the University of Venda, the Research Team Manager for natural resources at the Agricultural Research Council, and Professor and Head of the Agronomy Department at the University of Fort Hare in South Africa. He also served for many years as a Senior lecturer at Egerton University, Kenyatta University, and the Technical University of Kenya (Then Kenya Polytechnic).

He served as a post-doctoral Research Fellow at the Agricultural Research Organization (ARO) of the State of Israel – Institute of Soil, Water and Environmental Sciences (Volcani). He has been a consultant with the Inter-Governmental Authority on Development (IGAD/USAID), where he analyzed the capacity of public, private and non-governmental organizations and regional and international research and development research in Kenya to deploy drought-tolerant high-yielding crop varieties through research.

Professor Wakindiki is a member of the Soil Science Society of South Africa and the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions. He is a Professor Extraordinaire at the University of South Africa and the former Chairman of the University Council at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science & Technology (JOOUST).

Prof. Wakindiki has a wealth of experience in the resource mobilization arena with a global touch. His focus, ability and action towards transforming the University in all areas is evident. Hence, he brings to the Board as the Vice Chancellor & CEO of KCA University the much-needed push that would enable the Foundation to realize its resource mobilization objectives.

Prof. Damiannah is an Associate Professor and tourism expert with over 20 years of experience. She holds PhD. in Tourism Management Moi University MSc. In Services Management, Christelijke Hogeschool Noord (CHN)- Netherlands, and Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Management, Moi University.

She has taught, researched and consulted in tourism, wildlife and related fields. In addition, she has held management positions, including Head of the Department of Tourism and Tour Operations Management at Moi University, the Dean School of Tourism, Hospitality and Events Management at Moi University.

She was awarded Chancellor’s Excellence in Service Award in December 2017 for Demonstrating Leadership and Enterprise in Managing the School of Tourism, Hospitality and Events Management. In September 2020, She was appointed a leadership council member of Sustainable Development Solutions Network, Kenya.

She has supervised over 13 PhD candidates and 36 Masters’ candidates to completion. She is an author of more than 20 journal articles, ten book chapters and several conference proceedings. She has served as an external examiner of 14 Universities and 2 colleges; a peer reviewer of several refereed journals, as well as with the Commission for University Education, Kenya.

She has carried out numerous projects in tourism and conservation, covering tourism product development, wildlife-based tourism, Community-based tourism development, Small and Medium Tourism Enterprises Development, tourism management plans, tourism curricula development, tourism training and research, sustainable tourism development and pro-poor tourism development. She has attracted donor funding in support of various initiatives. She is currently leading a research project funded by the European Union on Heritage entrepreneurship and digitization.

Prof. Damiannah is the Deputy Vice-Chancellor in charge of the Finance, Planning & Development division at KCA University. She is passionate about resource mobilization, bringing a rich experience to the KCA University Foundation Board.

Mr. Roggers Abong’o has been appointed as the founding Executive Director, KCA University Foundation who will serve as an ex officio member and secretary to the Foundation Board. He holds a Masters degree in Data Communications (KCA University) and Bachelor’s degree in I.T (JKUAT).
He served as the Principal of KCA University, Western – Kisumu Campus (2019-2021), Dean of Students at KCA University (2011 – 2018) and was elected as the founding Secretary General of Kenya Universities Deans of Students Association (KUDSA) from 2015 to 2019. The association brings together all Deans of Students in Kenya, both from Public and Private Universities, focusing on standardization of Student Affairs and nurturing young talents. As the Secretary General of KUDSA, he oversaw the development of the student leaders training curriculum, the Deans of Students Strategic Training Program, several student leaders’ workshops, and the engagement of student leaders and Deans of Students during the 2018 National Prayer Breakfast and National Dialogue 2018 in Kenya. He spearheaded fundraising efforts for the association
While serving as the Principal of KCA University Western Campus, he oversaw great transformation. He significantly improved the campus performance, besides creating a great impact in the region by working closely with regional and county leadership. In addition, he mobilized resources for the campus through trainings and education support.
He has served in several University committees, including the University Senate and University Management Board at KCA University. He has effectively mentored many students and mobilized funds for scholarship support. He also made significant contributions to the creation of the Career Services Office in Kenya, which the Ministry of Education rolled out. In addition, he was appointed as a curriculum expert for the Kenya School of Government, which is the official training arm of the Kenyan Government.
He has served as a member of the International Youth Fellowship (IYF) global advisory committee since 2015, a South Korean based NGO training young people on mind education and other life skills worldwide. He is currently serving as the Kenyan convener and chief advisor for the All Africa Students Union, an umbrella body bringing together all University Students from Africa.
He is a member of the KUZA Initiative Board, which oversees a mentorship initiative, financial support, and resource mobilization for young people in the republic of Kenya.
He is a mentor to young people both locally, regionally and globally, to this end he has moderated many sessions, including but not limited to; World Camp by IYF in South Korea 2015, Africa Students & Youth summit held in Kigali-Rwanda (2018), Africa Students & Youth summit held in Rabat-Morocco (2019).
