In 2013, KCA University launched fundraising activities geared towards providing
scholarship support for needy yet deserving students. The focus in 2013 was on
students who had qualified to take up a degree course at KCA University but were
not able to progress with their studies for lack of tuition fees, besides consideration
for research funding as well as infrastructural development fund sourcing. A
foundation was registered and all funds collected towards this purpose were
directed towards a University bank account in the name of the foundation, it was
however not incorporated as required by law. Through the foundation, 13 students
benefited from full scholarships while a total sum of Ksh. 6.6 Million was available
as at 31st December 2021 in the foundation’s account inclusive of endowed funds
and subsequent proceeds.
